The city has many different transportation options and can be easily reached via highway or the coast road. It is close to Marbella and located conveniently for international travel as the Málaga and Gibraltar airports are closeby. Regarding safety, Estepona is an ideal place to stay. The Costa del Sol in general is one of the safest regions in Europe and Estepona is one of the safest large cities here. In addition, many cobblestoned streets are traffic free. That is a reason why Estepona is one of the most family-friendly destinations in Spain. It also has several international and national schools in and around the city. Moreover, there are excellent dental and hospital facilities, both private and public. Finally, there is a large commercial centre in the old town, with shops and supermarkets, ensuring you can get whatever you need at all times.
